A good friend of mine has pre-ordered one of the new Garmin Forerunner 405 GPS watches - although calling this a watch is like calling Biltmore a house. The 405:
He is mad anxious to get his mitts on this new training toy, but - as is often the case with gadgets like this - the availability date keeps getting pushed back. I heard from my uncle Joe who has a girlfriend who drops off packages to a guy who regularly eats lunch with a gentleman who co-authors a tech-blog with a lady who is practically the manager of a running store and regularly represents Garmin in figurative dance recitals in the back parking lot that she has it on very good authority that due to this being a leap year and all (and of this I'm 100% certain) that all the speculation and hearsay regarding the actual release dates for the new Garmin units is causing a shift in cosmic forces and planetary alignment that will inevitably result in all predictions of the actual release date being off by anywhere from one week to half a year (plus/minus a 23% margin of error). Fortunately there will be an optional accessory available to combat these forces which should be available before the end of the year.
It's even funnier if you read it out loud. Kinda reminds me of Kristy Swanson's 31 Flavors line from Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
